Answer:

Similes and metaphors are both forms of figurative language used to compare two subjects. Similes use "like" or "as". Example: "Her smile was like a gift from heaven." Metaphors don't use either. Example: "She had the heart of a lion."

Okay, so I'm thinking that the answer is semantics, because syntax is the arrangement of words, learning acquisition is just the structure(I think), and grammar is the structure of language.
