Read the excerpt from Midsummer by Derek Walcott. I was there to add some color to the British theater. "But the blacks can’t do

Shakespeare, they have no experience.” Based on the excerpt, what is the speaker’s perspective on British theater? The speaker feels that most people are familiar with Shakespeare. The speaker feels that British theater is not inclusive of all races. The speaker feels that most actors need more experience. The speaker feels that Shakespeare is overrated in England.

Since the speaker states<em> "the blacks can't do Shakespeare, they have no experience,</em>" the reader may infer a racist selection of actors that aim to perform British theater and, also, a distinction between the roles that <em>blacks </em>can play and the roles they cannot. Therefore, based on the excerpt, the speaker's perspective on British theater is the following:

The speaker feels that British theater is not inclusive of all races.

RideAnS [48]
I think its an Idiom. I don't see like or as. So no simile. I don't see he is something like a marshmallow. - No metaphor. I also don't see a non-human thing doing human things- the grass was dancing in the wind. My answer would be an idiom.

Hope this helps!
