Read these sentences from the text. The pause is an exceedingly important feature in any kind of story, and a frequently recurri

ng feature, too. It is a dainty thing, and delicate, and also uncertain and treacherous; for it must be exactly the right length—no more and no less—or it fails of its purpose and makes trouble. Which response best explains the effect of the word choice on the meaning of the sentences? A.. The pause is used too often and can distort the meaning of a story. B. The pause is rarely used correctly and should be avoided when telling a story. C. The pause should be used infrequently in order to maximize its impact. D. The pause must be used expertly in order to be effective.

Misha Larkins [42]
As she has already prepared and rehearsed several times, we can not say the answer is a or b. Both c and d are really good options but I would say D is the correct one, cause what she needs is to have perspective of what she will attain after her presentation and to do that she needs a positive thinking. Hope this helps

Eddi Din [679]
The correct answer is B.

In "Araby," the boy learns that his love for Mangan's sister is in vain, that Araby is not an exotic event (despite its exotic-sounding name), and that he will not be able to buy a gift for Mangan's sister.

What he does not learn, however, is that Mangan's sister has feelings for him, too. The only thing he learns is that she is disappointed she cannot attend Araby because she has a prior commitment.

Can someone help me with my essay ?
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:  Each and everyone need to work for themselves, but whereas when there is no competition one won't work with determination. It is very important that everyone should have a goal in their life. In Order to get success they should work hard to reach their goal.Individual pursuits and sports can make it easy for a person to get bigheaded and think that they alone achieved success. Competition, however, forces you to acknowledge those who helped you on your way. Competition is too often seen as a bad thing, but it is actually essential for anyone who wants to be successful.
