From which of these excerpts from Beowulf can a pagan influence best be inferred?
Scilla [17]
We can infer pagan influences if there is a mention of more than one God, since the non-pagan religion here, Christianity, is monotheistic, one of the options does mention more than one God:

B.) "...And sometimes they sacrificed tot he old stone gods,/Made heathen vows..."

This is the correct answer! It actually specifically mentions the "old", that is pagan gods

"He had come like a thief in the night." Where in literature is this allusion taken from? What is the significance of the allusi
Julli [10]

"He had come like a thief in the night." is taken from the Bible, specifically Thessalonians 5:2. It refers to the second return of the Lord (Jesus), that means another one from the one we know. The first one is his rebirth after beeg crucified. He will return as "a thief in the night" because we don't know when it will happen, he won't announce it.

A paragraph can consist of a single sentence, and since a single word can be a sentence, you can literally have a paragraph that consists of a single word.

Explanation:

Because
