Why did the Christchurch earthquake (2011) in New Zealand cause much more damage than the larger Canterbury earthquake (2010)?
stellarik [79]

Answer:

It was closer to a large city with buildings that had been damaged by the earlier earthquake

Explanation:

The city Christchurch, of New Zealand, witnessed several earthquakes between 2010-2011. On 4th September 2010, the city witnessed an earthquake of 7.0-7.1 magnitude. But, the most damaging earthquake in the series was that occurred at 12:51 PM on 22nd February 2011. The magnitude of this earthquake was 6.3. The earthquake was most damaging of all because the earthquake was the shallow one. The earthquake took place four kilometers below the ground in 2011 whereas, in 2010, it was ten kilometers below the ground. Because of this, the earthquake of 2011 was most damaging. The other reason for this damage was that the earthquake of 2010 took place in the farmland, the earthquake of 2011 took place near the city area and was close to the larger buildings.

Assessment: Introductory Paragraph & Thesis
dezoksy [38]
I think that This is correct, the very reason for English settlers coming to U.S is haphazard. They came here in search for religious freedom from the British crown, and forced there way onto America. From then on they have used the land, gotten sick and died, searched for treasure destroyed the land and fought with Indians. The situations that brought them to settle in America and their dissensions afterwords set the building blocks for an extremely haphazard way of life. They killed many Indians made treaties and broke them, mined the earth for oil and made war with Brittan 2 times. Also their greed for money and industrialization was also out of control. All in all the settlements of early America, was forced due to oppression and was never gilded into a thoughtful manner.

All this needs is specific detail which i can't do since i don't have your book or curriculum.

What does archaeologist tom sever think caused the maya downfall?
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

Tom Sever thinks the main cause of the Mayan fall was the unplanned ways of agriculture which led to drought and deforestation.

Explanation:

The Mayan did not cared for the land type and the seasons for the plantation of crops which led to a disturbed climate. This disturbance in the climate led to deforestation and the water table imbalance brought the drought. These were the main reasons of the Mayan downfall. However these two natural calamities were the result of unplanned plantation which was carried out by the Mayan farmers.
