Japan began to invade china who was a close ally of the U.S.

Japan and much of Asia did not have oil. so japan required their oil to come from the U.S. nothing mechanical worked without oil back then. After china began to invade northern china. The U.S attempted to peacefully stop the conflict by stopping oil from being sent to japan (Which would cripple japan) to get them to stop. But that Caused retaliation from japan as they Attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Involving The U.S in World War 2
