IQ scores based on the Stanford-Binet IQ test are normally distributed with a mean of 100 and standard deviation 15. If you wer

e to obtain 100 different simple random samples of size 20 from the population of all adult humans and determine 95% confidence intervals for each of them, how many of the intervals would you expect to include 100? One would expect 95 of the 100 intervals to include the mean 100.

Answer:

95 intervals

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

population mean = 100

standard deviation = 15

number of interval that involve the mean for 95% confidence interval is calculated as

We know that when we measure the 99 percent confidence interval, 99 outof 100 confidence interval are required to provide the mean population.

similarly

Assuming we measure a confidence interval of 95 percent, then we  should expect 95 out of 100 confidence interval to provide the mean population therefore, answer is 95

FUNDRAISING A school is raising money by selling calendars for $20 each. Mrs. Hawkins promised a party to whichever of her Engli
____ [38]

Rj, this is the solution to question 19:

• 1st period class sold 60 calendars in total

,

• 2nd period class sold 123 calendars in total

We calculate the average per week, this way:

• 1st period class sold 60/4 = 15 calendars per week

,

• 2nd period class sold 123/4 = 30.75 calendars per week

In consequence the multiplication equation that represents this situation is:

15w + 30.75w = 183, where w is the number of weeks Mrs. Hawkins' classes sold calendars.

This is the solution to question 20:

We already know the average number of calendars that 1st and 2nd period classes sold per week. Now, let's calculate the average for 3nd 4th peiod classes, this way:

• 3rd period class sold 89 calendars in total

,

• 4th period class sold 126 calendars in total

Therefore, the average is:

• 3rd period class sold 89/4 = 22.25 calendars per week

,

• 4th period class sold 126/4 = 31.5 calendars per week

Summarizing, we have:

15 + 30.75 + 22.25 + 31.5 = 99.5 calendars was the average number sold by all her classes in a week.

an art teacher has 1 1/2 pounds of red clay and 3/4 pound of yellow clay. The teacher mixes the red clay and yellow clay together
Nataly [62]
Well, seeing as how she mixed the clay, she has a total of 2 2/8 pounds clay (unsimplified). Although we don't know how many students she has in one class, with simple division of this number we can figure out how many student can finish the project. Removing the 2/8, we can already tell 2 students can do it, so that's a start. Now to divide the 2 pounds into 8ths. Each pound is enough for 8 students, so the 2 pounds totals to 16. Now add the extra 2 students, it's 18 total students. Hope I explained it well enough!
