A researcher wanted to study the effect of low light environments on the growth of alfalfa plants, so she grew six plants and me

asured their heights after two weeks. She calculated a sample mean of 5.35 cm and a sample standard deviation of 0.90 cm. If the heights of the first five plants in her sample were 6.0 cm, 5.9 cm, 4.0 cm, 5.5 cm, and 6.2 cm, what is the height of the other plant?

Answer:

Height of the other plant is 4.5 cm

Explanation:

- Given -

Mean of the sample set of plants = 5.35cm

Mean of a given set of data is equal to the sum of integral values of each data divided by the number of such data points

M = \frac{x}{n}

Where M signifies the Mean values

X signifies the sum of all unit data with in a sample

and n signifies total number of data units with in a sample

On substituting the given values in above equation, we get -

\frac{6.0+5.9+4.0+5.5+6.2+A}{6} = 5.35\\5.35 * 6= 27.6 + A\\A = 32.1-27.6\\A=4.5

Hence, height of the other plant is 4.5 cm

Summarize the importance of cells within the levels of organization in biological systems. Examine
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

In biological system, cell is known as the basic unit of all organisms. Unicellular organism consist of one cell only but that single cell helps them to perform all the functional activity.

Levels of organization in biological systems is defined as the hierarchy of several components from smallest to complex in biological system.

Cell is one of the important part of Levels of organization in biological systems, as in multicellular organisms group of cells form tissue that create an organ and many organs together form organ system within an organism. The cell is basic unit in all organisms and without a cell, an organism can not develop.

The group of these organism formed from a small cell then form complex component of Levels of organization such as population, community, ecosystem and Biosphere (in sequential order).
