ATP is the phosphoryl group donor

The free energy of the phosphorylation reaction is large.

Phosphorylation is known to be an effective way of regulating protein and in eukaryotic cells, about 30% pf the protein are phosphorylated. Thus, the enzyme responsible for the phosphorylation reaction is known as kinases. However, ATP is required in the process phosphorylation because it is needed as a donor.

How do researchers hope to understand healthy aging by the study of proteins?
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

Of course, you could scan their driver’s license or look for signs of facial wrinkles and gray hair. But, as researchers just found in a new study, you also could get pretty close to the answer by doing a blood test.

Woman looking at herself in mirror That may seem surprising. But in a recent study in Nature Medicine, an NIH-funded research team was able to gauge a person’s age quite reliably by analyzing a blood sample for levels of a few hundred proteins. The results offer important new insights into what happens as we age.

Explanation:

For example, the team suggests that the biological aging process isn’t steady and appears to accelerate periodically — with the greatest bursts coming, on average, around ages 34, 60, and 78

HELP! What are some of the reasons Humans depend on the ocean? - How do humans impact the ocean? - Since we humans depend on the
Romashka [77]
For an ecosystem that covers 70 percent of the planet, oceans get no respect.

All they’ve done is feed us, provide most of the oxygen we breathe, and protect us from ourselves: Were it not for the oceans, climate change would have already made Earth uninhabitable.

How?

The oceans have gamely absorbed more than 90 percent of the warming created by humans since the 1970s, a 2016 report found. Had that heat gone into the atmosphere, global average temperatures would have jumped by almost 56 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit).

But as vast as the seas are, there is a limit to how much they can absorb, and they are beginning to show it. Today, on World Oceans Day, Human Nature examines some of the ways that climate change affects life in the oceans — and what that means for humanity.
