Involvement - France is one of the six founding member of theEU. It is one of the 6 core founding countries of the EU, so France technically founded & joined the EU in 1958. Because France used to be a powerful colonialist, they have overseas regions, territories which are not located in Europe, but their citizens are european citizens. For example, French Guiana people can live & work in Europe based on their French citizenship. I would say that the main cause of the global amplification of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels such as car gas and coal. The burning of such fuels creates CO2 which is a major constituent of greenhouse gas which keeps the earth's heat trapped on the earth and causes the temperature to rise abnormally.
