Why carbon atoms are important in organic molecules ?

It makes it possible to form cyclic and chain-shaped molecules by covalent bonds.

Carbon is from the heart of stars. But what really characterizes it is this extraordinary ability to form long molecules, polymers as experts say. Now, life is fond of these long molecules and it probably could not exist without them. Moreover, when we talk about life, we often say that it is entirely based on carbon chemistry. This is to say the importance of this element.

Kinds of bonds carbon can form:

The carbon bonds can be classified according to the number of bonds between two atoms, single bond (sp3 hybridization), double (sp2 hybridization), or triple (sp1 hybridization), the latter are rare in a living organism. Or depending on the atom with which it will pair (another carbon, hydrogen, oxygen nitrogen, or even sulfur ...)

Carbon is one of the most common elements

Can form bonds and double bonds with up to 4 other atoms, including other carbon atoms

If you add more elements and you can create amino acids, and that is the base of all proteins.

If you need more help on this, watch some videos by Neil Degrasse Tyson. World-renown astrophysicist (and my idol) who does lots of talks about things just like this.

Which statements are true of all plants? Check all that apply. All plants are vascular. All plants are multicellular. All plants
GarryVolchara [31]

Correct option/s :

All plants are multicellular.

All plants are eukaryotic.

All plants are autotrophic.

Explanation:

Not all plants are vascular, for example mosses. They don't have specialized system for transport of water and solutes. Therefore, Option 1 is false.

Only bacteria, protista and yeast are unicellular. Rest all the organisms are multicellular. Thus option 2 is true.

Only bacteria are prokaryotic, rest all organisms are eukaryotic, including all the plants. Option 3 is true.

Plants are the only organisms which are autotrophic. Although apart from this mode of nutrition, plants can be parasitic or carnivorous as well. But primarily they all are autotrophic. Option 4 is true

Not all plants need sunlight, some get energy from the chemical substances from their surroundings. Option 5 is False.

Plants reproduce by sexual as well as asexual means. Not all plants reproduce sexually. Option 6 is false.

What's mitosis and meiosis?
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

MITOSIS AND MEIOSIS*

Most of the time when people refer to “cell division,” they mean mitosis, the process of making new body cells. Meiosis is the type of cell division that creates egg and sperm cells. ... During mitosis, a cell duplicates all of its contents, including its chromosomes, and splits to form two identical daughter cells.

What meiosis means?

Meiosis is a type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cell by half and produces four gamete cells. This process is required to produce egg and sperm cells for sexual reproduction. ... Meiosis begins with a parent cell that is diploid, meaning it has two copies of each chromosome.

What is mitosis explain?

Mitosis is a process where a single cell divides into two identical daughter cells (cell division). During mitosis one cell? divides once to form two identical cells. The major purpose of mitosis is for growth and to replace worn out cells.

What is meiosis important?

Meiosis is important because it ensures that all organisms produced via sexual reproduction contain the correct number of chromosomes. Meiosis also produces genetic variation by way of the process of recombination.

What is Mitosis important?

Mitosis is a way of making more cells that are genetically the same as the parent cell. It plays an important part in the development of embryos, and it is important for the growth and development of our bodies as well. Mitosis produces new cells, and replaces cells that are old, lost or damaged.

What is Mitosis means?

Mitosis is a process where a single cell divides into two identical daughter cells (cell division). ... The major purpose of mitosis is for growth and to replace worn out cells.

What Meiosis explain?

Meiosis is a type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cell by half and produces four gamete cells. This process is required to produce egg and sperm cells for sexual reproduction. ... Meiosis begins following one round of DNA replication in cells in the male or female sex organs.
