Throughout Beowulf, an epic poem of the Anglo-Saxon literature, the eponymous character fights, under different circumstances, against Grendel, his mother, and a dragon, which are representations of the forces of evil.
Grendel's father is a character that does not appear in the poem; thereby, Beowulf does not fight him.
