Answer:

D. Leon believed the old man could send rain, which reflects the cultural beliefs regarding the connection of man and earth.

Explanation:

Leon , the son of  Teofilo 's, the man who had died , tried to comply  with two religious beliefs: his father's and his own. Leon was a catholic , so he could convince a priest to come to the burial and sprikle holly  water onto his father's body. Yet, Leon also complied with his father's aborigine and Mexican traditions, which was the fact the old man once in Heaven would send some rain. This means the conntact between earth and death.

Why is Oedipus Rex is like reading two stories?
grigory [225]

Answer: The story has two messages.

Explanation: Sophocles uses the motif of blindness to illustrate the character Oedipus’ tragic flaw hubris/arrogance to show that those who are impulsive will ultimately fail by not listening to those around them.  Likewise, the story focuses on a taboo relationship between Oedipus and his mother Jocasta, so it adds mystery and a psychological aspect.
