The correct answer is - False.

The atmosphere, as all other spheres, is interconnected with all of the spheres, and it is dependent on the changes in them, including the changes in the geosphere. The geosphere and the atmosphere are constantly interacting, and any change in the geosphere, is also reflected on the atmosphere which will have some changes because of it too.

The movement of the tectonic plates for example, can define weather there's conditions for the creation of ice sheets or not, if there is, lot of carbon dioxide and methane will be trapped in them, which means it will reduce the amount of them in the atmosphere, but if there isn't conditions for ices sheets to form, than these two gasses will be in higher amount in the atmosphere. Also, the volcanic activity is constantly releasing new amounts of certain gasses in the atmosphere, and it can have from minor to drastic changes, be it on the short term, or on a very long period of time.
