In overall, the political doctrine of Popular Sovereignty holds that all political power (authorities of states and federal government) is inherent in the people, that is to say, people create and determine the nature of its government, gives consents to it and sustains it. They tend to accomplish this by electing their representative (individuals that advocate for their needs, desires, and projects as a society) through fair elections.

Popular sovereignty revolves around the idea that the people of a specific country/territory get to decide on certain issues.

This concept was used several times throughout American history. In the Compromise of 1850, the New Mexico and Utah territories used popular sovereignty in order to decide whether or not slavery existed in their territories. This concept was also used in the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, as citizens of the Kansas and Nebraska territories got the chance to vote on whether slavery would exist in their territories.

Explain how stalin was a tyrant during his reign in russia.
aleksandrvk [35]
Joseph Stalin was a dictator, meaning that he seized all power in Russia for himself; he was the sole ruler of the entire country, which meant he didn't have to rely on anyone but himself for counsel. He was considered a tyrant because his rule was a reign of terror - he led to millions of his own people dying just because he wanted to achieve his own goals. He mercilessly executed people who disobeyed him, exiled many, and sent them to labor camps.

dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

1st and 4th

Explanation:

The war demanded huge expenses, and the Confederate government finally had to introduce taxing slave owners. Also, the Confederation tax policy was characterized by a desire to increase indirect taxes. In 1861, a law was passed introducing a tax on all exported cotton. The tax was levied at the rate of an eighth of a cent for every pound of exported cotton. The war had protracted nature, and on April 24, 1863 the Confederate government was forced to introduce a direct tax on land, slaves, and all other sources of income. In addition, the Government of the Confederation took measures that allowed the mass requisition of slaves, livestock, and food for the needs of the army.
