What jobs did slaves perform in Colonial America?

In the South, slaves worked on cotton, tobacco, and rice plantations.
In the North, slaves worked in cities, on farms, and on ships.

Slaves performed different kind of jobs in Colonial America. For instance in the south colonies,  they worked on farms and plantations working the tobacco fields. Besides, slaves were house servants.

Some other tasks that slave had to performed on the plantations include: picking cotton, harvesting sugar cane, planting and harvesting rice, harvesting tobacco, growing and harvesting coffee, and building railroads.

Explanation:

For example, "an eye for an eye" or "a leg for a leg"

If someone were to cut off someone's leg, then the person would have to get his leg cut off as well.
