Why was the early West considered a "crossroads of culture?"
vredina [299]

Think about that expression -- crossroads of culture. The early West was something of a plethora of human beings, with people of all breeds and flavors a) travelling, such as the Mormon (Latter-day Saint) pioneers, b) going for gold (Gold Rush), c) running a business, etc. Another factor to consider is that the pioneers (the Mormons) had their numbers bolstered by people from England, Ireland, Scotland, throughout the US and other places, in consequence of missionary efforts by the Latter-Day Saint Church, and in response to the call of their prophet to "gather to Zion." With that amalgamation of people it's not hard to see why, at least in the early settlements, it's called a "crossroads of culture," due to the hundreds of types of variety present. Of course, other immigrants and families moved to the west other than the Mormons. I don't mean to imply the Mormons were alone in their endeavor.

Your view on the british after you witnessed the amristar massacre?
astraxan [27]

Amritsar is also called the JallianWala Bagh massacre. it is one of the most gruesome killing if the common civilians who assembled and were on peaceful strike in Amritsar.

Explanation:

Though Indians supported the British in their wars against Germany and Ottoman empire, The British Raj lacked trust on some of the radical Indians who understood the real purpose of the Britishers to occupy India. Gradually British decided to repress Indians by passing Rowlatt act which authorized the Britishers to imprison the revolutionaries just based on suspicion and the press were also not given the rights and freedom of speech and expression. General Dyer also restricted any association of more than four members in the public places in Amritsar.

But more than twenty thousand civilians assembled in the public park called JallianWala Bagh. General dyer ordered the cease fire and more than four hundred people were killed. This made the Indians to lose hope on the British Government and from thereon the nationalism spirit of Indians rose to such an extent that Independence was indispensable for Indians.

What is an example of a government limit on the use of business property
ANTONII [103]

Zoning ordinances are a good example. A territory is divided in commercial, industrial and residential zones. A business cannot be built or established in a residential zone. Environmental laws and regulations are another example. Industries cannot (at least not according to the law) dump toxic, dangerous waste from their property. They have to remove toxic materials from their buildings such as asbestos.
