This soon prompted the breakup of communist Yugoslavia when some of the republics proclaimed independence and seceded from Yugoslavia, creating so independent sovereign states. This again led to ethnic conflicts, where there was a multi-ethnic life, and there was a civil war on the territory of Croatia and Bosnia.
