In “Diary 24” from The Freedom Writers Diary by Erin Gruwell and the Freedom Writers The author is taken out of his apartment and became homeless, this even a sudden as it came throws over him a bunch of frustration like in this excerpt “While kids were having fun enjoying the summer, I was packing my clothes and belongings into boxes and wondering where we were going to end up. My mom didn't know what to do or where to go. We had no family to lean on. No money was coming in. Without a job, my mom didn't have enough money to get another place. What to do? No father to help out, just a single mom and her son.”

1. Is Jonas’s assignment as the next Receiver of Memory an honor or a punishment?
Ivan
Well, it has only few negatives but also serious and important positives.

1) Negative: Jonas is not allowed to discuss his assignment nor his training with his friends, family, and everyone else.

2) Positive: The Giver and the Receiver (Jonas) is the only ones who can understand. They have the privilege to see beyond with the memories which show emotion, colors, music, places, and weather changes. That don't exist in their community because of sameness.

I hope this helps with your answer:)
