Your Highness,

it is from deep respect for the crown and the old ways of our countries that I ask you only to hear my claims.

We are going through a new dawn of men. People want to guide their own fate in many ways now, and those desires cannot be fulfilled by the crown. Any crown. Only the people can guide the people to where they wish to go, even if that is not a good place to be.

Although the crown cannot provide the sense of power over our destinies that we all wish to have at some point during our lives, the people has deep respect for culture and traditions, and there is no kingdom without a King or a Queen.

So I humbly ask of thee to represent us, to hear the people and to be the voice of reason, the voice of men and the voice of women to other countries and to the parliament.

Be our King and our Queen, but not above the law. Be the greatest you can be by following the same rules that the other countrymen will follow, and I promise much more respect and admiration from all than you would ever have through the old ways.

President Bush declared January 20th _____ Day.
murzikaleks [220]

The 20th of Janaury 1986, President Reagan oficialized that the „Martin Luther King’s day” will be the third Monday of each Janaury, very close of MLK’s birthday (Janaury 15th), althought it was signed three years earlier. Martin Luther King was the main character against the violence during the protest of the civil rights, supporting the no racial descrimination inside the federal and state legislation. He was murdered because of it, and the national holiday in his honor campaign started by then. So it was not Bush who proclaim this national holiday, but Reagan.

Why did texans declare independence from mexico in 1836 document A,B,C,D answers?
Marat540 [252]

On October 2, 1835, rebellious Texans took shots at Mexican soldiers in the town of Gonzales. It was barely a skirmish, as the Mexicans left the battlefield without attempting to engage the Texans, but nevertheless "the Battle of Gonzales" is considered the first engagement of what would become Texas' War of Independence from Mexico. The battle, however, was only the start of the actual fighting: tensions had been high for years between the Americans who had come to settle Texas and the Mexican authorities. Texas formally declared independence in March of 1836: there were many reasons why they did so.

Describe Wilson’s plan for peace and the reasons why the plan failed.
zepelin [54]

Wilson's plan for world peace was called his "14 Points." It failed because the Treaty of Versailles did not implement most of his ideas, and the US Senate did not ratify the Treaty of Versailles because of the League of Nations (which was Wilson's idea).

Context/detail:

President Woodrow Wilson thought that some of the very things that were adopted in the Treaty of Versailles could lead to another war -- and they did. The Treaty of Versailles included various ideas that went against Wilson's plans for peace. The treaty was very punitive towards Germany. Germany was forced to admit responsibility for causing the Great War (World War I). We now call that "the war guilt" clause of the treaty. The German military had major restrictions imposed on it -- it had to be a volunteer military only, of no more than 100,000 men, and they could not have an air force. Germany also was forced to pay large reparation payments to the Allies (who opposed Germany in the war).

US President Wilson had come into the Paris Peace Conference with other views. Wilson had set forth his views in a speech he delivered to Congress in January, 1918, his "14 Points" speech. The 14 Points were his proposals for how to end the Great War (World War I) and establish international peace. Especially key to his ideas was point #14 - the establishment of an international organization to promote and preserve peace.

The Treaty of Versailles did adopt Wilson's 14th point, which led to the formation of the League of Nations. But back home in the US, Republicans in the Senate feared that commitment to a League of Nations could commit the US to future wars that were not directly related to US national security. Because of its objections to membership in the League of Nations, the United States Senate refused to ratify the Treaty of Versailles. Without the USA in the League of Nations, that organization was weakened and did not have much success.
