Corrie and Betsie are the characters from the novel 'The Hiding Place' which is written by Corrie Boom herself, who is the protagonist of the novel. Corrie is unmarried and a middle aged women, Betsie on the other hand is older than Corrie.

Corrie's and Besie's attitude towards old age isn't quite pleasant. They enjoy who they are and what they are, they like to be kids who are away from all the roles and responsibilities of an adult. They both are kind and loves to serve and help others, but when it comes to old age, they aren't really delighted or eager to be older.
