Answer:

The answer is your first option: The emperor rewards his subjects for jumping over and under a stick.

Explanation:

The "silken threads" as mentioned on the text, are the rewards the emperor wishes to give to his subjects for doing what he is claiming: jumping over and under the stick, we know this for the following line: while the candidates advancing, one by one, sometimes leap over the stick, sometimes creep under it, backward and forward. We have the word "candidates", which are the subjects, and "leap over the stick" is the act of jumping over it.

The second option is the most akward, as the narrator has nothing to do in the story, he only tells is. The third option isn't possible either for there is no prompt for knowing that both, the empress and emperor have no respect for their subjects, and the final option is unknown as it doesn't mention whether the threads and sticks should be replaced or not, again, there is no prompt as for the reader to know that from this excerpt.

Which two elements effectively support the written content on a slide (select all correct answers)
shusha [124]

Answer:

Colored text and images.

Explanation:

Colored text draws attention towards the text, and images can help to support the content by giving the viewer a visual example/explanation in addition to the text.

Animation may distract viewers from the actual content of the slide if overused and will be unhelpful for anything other than making the transition from one slide to the other more appealing to the eye. Dark backgrounds can often make reading the text difficult, unless the text color is very light. It can also make images look worse unless they are also very light.

It is a bit confusing on why you said 40,0000 with four zeros
But based my assumptions with calculations, here are my answers:
40,0000 with five zeros or 400,000÷60=6666.67

Choose the sentence that correctly uses the comparative or the superlative.
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Explanation:

the correct answer is b) Of the two brothers, Jerome was the taller, but Joshua was the stronger.

Reason: you are trying to compare qualities between two people, the superlative form comes in view when there are more than one subjects in the context.
