When creating a summary, you will want to begin the summary with the name of the piece, who wrote the piece, then follow it up with the thesis of the piece to be summarized.  When providing a summary, it is important to be as objective as possible.  What this means is that you will want to exclude any and all opinion from the summary as well as any analysis.  You should only include a bland retelling of the facts and nothing but the facts, which, again, should be free of your opinion.
