The southern gentry usually educated their children by "hiring private tutors", mostly due to the fact that the population density in this region was low, and sending children to single schools was impractical.

Despite being a communist country, Cuba still considers itself a Republic.

While the Spanish Republic provoked symphathy in all democracies, both Germany and Italy were already under autoritarian governments, more specifically, those of Hitler and Mussolini. In spite of non intervention agreements both countries collaborated heavily with Nationalistic Spain.
