The southern gentry usually educated their children by "hiring private tutors", mostly due to the fact that the population density in this region was low, and sending children to single schools was impractical.

What was the leader of the persian empire that was impressed by alexander and why is he important?* quizlit?
CaHeK987 [17]
I'm not sure of his name, but it might have been Darius. If you want more info, search 'Gordian Knot'. There was supposedly a prophecy at the time stating that whoever could untie this immensely complicated knot that tied the king's horse yolk to his chariot would rule over Persia. When Alexander saw the knot he sliced it in two with his sword instead of trying to untie it. I'm pretty sure Darius (or whatever his name was)

The correct answer is C) developing of irrigation methods.

One characteristic of the Aztec Empire was the developing of irrigation methods.

The Aztec Empire was a dominant tribe in Mesoamerica in the 1500s. Mesoamerica is the vast region from the center of Mexico until the region of Oaxaca and part of Tabasco states. The Aztec people were fierce warriors that conquered other tribes such as the “Tlaxcaltecas” and the “Cholultecas”. The Aztecs developed irrigation methods, as well as constructed floating gardens called “Chinampas” that still today are used in the suburb of Xochimilco, southside Mexico City.

True [87]
Changes: Constitutional end to slavery and granted citizenship and voting rights.

Continuities: Blacks continued to work on plantation lands doing much the same work as before 1865. They were segregated from whites and often were not given the right to vote.
