d. People’s explicit attitudes are sometimes different than their implicit attitudes. True

2. An implicit attitude is best defined as a belief that exists on an unconscious level

Attiudes are expressions of someones feellings or thoughts towards different people, and different situations. There are explicit attitudes and implicit attitudes, explicit is at a conscious level, people can easily identify those attitudes and recongice them. Religion-related food habits are the least variable of culturally based food habits. Group of answer choices True False
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Religious beliefs go a long way to influence a person's choices as mapped out by his value system, traditions, and consequently in this case his dietary practices, which, in turn, can affect food selection. Strong religious beliefs can be interwoven into cultural practices in a society. However the variability of religion-related food habits are as variable as there are different religions, with each religion on its preferences on what should be consumed and what shouldn't.

This week, the reading and lesson trace a number of ethical theories that we will encounter and explore this session. These incl
anastassius [24]

According to the text "Evaluating a Case Study: Developing a Practical Ethical Viewpoint," Ms. Smith, Mrs. Taylor and Mr. Jones cannot agree on who deserves to win a prize for outstanding moral behaviour. The candidates are Mr. Big and Mrs. Little. The main ethical concerns are: whether one big, good act counts more than many small good acts; whether benefitting one person greatly is better than benefitting many in small ways; and whether a good act that does not benefit the actor is better than an act that does benefit him.

The approach that I would use is utilitarianism. According to this approach, the "most" moral act is the one that contributes to the greater happiness of a greater number of people. According to this idea, Mr. Big would win the award. This is because Mr. Big saved a man from drowning. However, this man was an important businessman, which means that Mr. Big also saved all of the man's employees from having to face unemployment. He benefitted the largest number of people.

According to the "prejudice causes discrimination" belief, how can we best reduce discrimination?
il63 [147K]

I believe that the best way to sustain discrimination and prejudice is through education and keeping an open mind.

As Allan W. Smith said: “Prejudice is the child of Ignorance”, which means that the best way to keep ourselves from discriminating other people is through education. The education is effective on reducing prejudice because students are introduced to new social norms in school due to more diversity. Apart from education, keeping yourself from prejudice and stereotypes is one way to avoid discrimination. But because even working hard to keep negative beliefs under control doesn’t mean that they will easily disappear, you should try to be constant in keeping your decision and try out some techniques sociologists recommend.
