The prediction Redi made was that Maggots weren't going to rise on the jars fully covered, he wasn't a scientist that actually suported the hypothesis that life was generated spontaneouly, that's why he made this experiment.

Although many scientists didn't agree with him, it was a very importante experiment for the new hypothesis to come because he was one of the first ones to present it to the world. The hypothesis accepted for some people at that time was that life could rise spontaneously because of rotten food. To prove them wrong, Redi took 8 jars containing meat inside of them, half of them were fully sealed, and the rest was let into the open air. You know what happened right? The ones that were sealed didn't grow up maggots, but the others did.

Answer:

He disproved the Theory of Spontaneous Generation and predicted the All Life comes from life.

Explanation:

The theory of Spontaneous Generation of life states that life can come from non living matter or material without the processes of reproduction.

Francesco Redi an Italian Scientist decided to carry out an experiment in 1668 to test the hypothesis that maggots arose via spontaneous generation from rotting meat

He placed meat in two jars, one of the jars was open while this other jar was covered tightly, the open jar had maggots in the rotten meat. For the second jar , he decided to use a gauze or a cloth to cover the jar, the smell of the meat attracted the flies and the meat in the jar didn't have any maggot present but the gauze did have maggot on them.

This proved that maggots did not just come from the rotting meat spontaneously instead, they came from when flies laid eggs on the meat or on the gauze.

Francesco Redi experiment proved or predicted that All life comes from life.
