Answer:

a. People made tools by chipping flint pebbles into blades and scrapers that had sharp edges.

Explanation:

The Upper Paleolithic Period roughly coincides with the last glaciation. The Cro-Magnon man, who emerged around 40,000 BC, is the characteristic representative of the period. This subspecies of Homo sapiens has been divided into several local cultures, distributed throughout Spain, southern France and central-eastern Europe.

The Cro-Magnon were still collectors, hunters and fishermen. Their instruments, however, underwent transformations. As ice made it difficult to obtain stones, various utensils began to be made with bones and ivory; the bow and arrow arose during this period, as did harpoons and needles.

Partly because of the long time spent inside the caves, but thanks mainly to the development of their own intelligence, the Upper Paleolithic men began artistic production by painting animals and hunting scenes on cave walls. This rock art (that is, painted or engraved in the rock), besides its realistic conception, had a magical function because, in executing it, the man believed to be guaranteeing abundant hunting for his group.

Around the same time as the Paleolithic Period, a few inches tall female ivory figurines began to be carved, which experts today call Venus (named after the Greco-Roman goddess of love and feminine beauty). These figures had full breasts and exaggerated hips, which certainly linked them to the idea of fertility.

Define and explain chamber music in the Classical era, and give at least three examples of common Classical Chamber music ensemb
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

DEFINITION

From c1500 to the mid-1700s (Renaissance and Baroque eras), all music was classified by its social function as being either (1) church music, (2) theater music, or (3) chamber music--a term which included all secular music that was performed in private household--whether vocal or instrumental, solo or ensemble, or even orchestral because at that time orchestras were rather small.

As orchestras grew significantly in size starting in the later 1700s, the term chamber music took on its present definition as music written for and performed by a small instrumental ensemble with one player on each part. Since the interplay of parts is considered an essential element of chamber music, music for a solo performer with or without accompaniment is usually excluded from this definition

Wickland Company installs a manufacturing machine in its production facility at the beginning of the year at a cost of $103,000.
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

  • <u>$15,360</u>

Explanation:

<u>1. Calculate the depreciation per unit produced:</u>

Depreciation can be established in terms of time or units produced.

In this case, since you know the number of units of products produced during the second year of machine's use, your are interested in establishing deprectiation in terms of the number of units produced.

You are given:

  • useful life: 210,000 units
  • salvage value: $7,000
  • purchase cost: $103,000

<em>Straight-line depreciation:</em>

  • Depreciation = [purchase cost - salvage value] / (number of units)

  • Depreciation = [$103,000 - $7,000] / (210,000 untis)

  • Depreciation = $16/(35units)

<em />

<em><u>2) Calculate the depreciation of 33,600 units</u></em>

<em>During its second year the machine produces 33,600 units of product</em>; thus, the corresponding depreciation is:

  • Depreciation = 33,600 units × $16/(35 units) = $15,360
