Anna has 30 feet of fence to go around her garden.the lettuce will be in a 8 ft × 5 ft section and the carrots will be in a 2 ft

× 7 ft section.will her layout work?if not, how can she change it to work?

If the sections are to be separated from each other and will be fenced, the length of fence will not be enough knowing that the perimeter of the first section is 26 ft and that of the second is 18 ft. These will add up to 44 ft. To make the fence length suitable for the sections, she should have on 7-ft side of the second section attached or directly adjacent to the 8-ft side of the first section to reduce the needed fence by 14 ft.
