Need a paragraph analysis on this painting
cluponka [151]
I immediately noticed the way his bones were structured, the way they were so defined and flexed. I also noticed how the artist creates the uneven shadow that affects the left side of his face but not the left side of his body. Which perks curiosity at the viewer. I next identified the sag of his eyelids. The drooped under eye can help me infer he is exhausted or has done Labor considering his naked upper body. I am not finished just yet and also sorry if this is bad, I couldn’t seem to find a bunch of ideal noticeable things about this painting, I will continue momentarily once I find more stuff about him.

Levart [38]

I believe the correct answer is: Neoclassicism.

Even before 1789, French popular taste had begun to turn away from lighthearted subjects of rococo and as revolution neared artists increasingly sought noble themes of public virtue and personal sacrifice from the history of ancient Greece or Rome. This marked the birth of Neoclassicism, a movement which valued restraint and discipline, using the austere clarity of the neoclassical style to stamp their subjects with certitude and moral truth.
