Learning tends to have a positive effect on a person's life in that (1) by learning, one gains a sharper sense of what one does not know and is so able to ask more pertinent questions and (2) by learning one gains insight into diverse perspectives, and thus the ability to refrane problems and possibly gain fresh insight into these problems.
