Merriam Webster dictionary defines empathy as the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to and experiencing the thoughts of another.  Therefore, your answer would be B, to empathize with a monster means to see traits of oneself in the monster, to understand his beaviour, to put yourself in his shoes.

What is the BEST way to combine the information in the two sentences below?
natulia [17]

The answer is A. Mercedes threw Andrea, Mercedes' best friend, a surprise party last night.  This choice uses an appositive ("Andrea, Mercedes' best friend,") to combine the two sentences.  An appositive is a phrase separated from the rest of the sentence by commas that describes something (in this case Andrea).

Choices B and C are incorrect because the uses of the words "but" and "when" to combine the sentences do not make logical sense.  Choice D is incorrect because it uses a comma to combine the sentences without a conjunction, creating a run-on sentence.

Hope this helps!

In your own words what is the difference between a theme and a summary.
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

Hello, There! My name Is Rocky and I'm here to help! <3

A theme is the purpose of the written work. It is what the author is trying to make you aware of. Usually the theme can be written in one or two succinct sentence. A summary is to describe the main points of the writing, including its purpose and how it achieves it.

_________________________________________________________

Some More Information!

Theme is an underlying message or the big idea of a story. This message could tell more about human nature or life in general.

A summary tells the reader the main action of the work without the reader having to read through the entire work in order to know more about it. A summary may be used to attract a potential reader’s attention to the work and is a tool for understanding what may be found inside of the work.
