How does the engraving tell a different story from the above description of the boston massacre

History

The engraving of the Boston Massacre, created by Paul Revere, shows the Boston Massacre as an incident when the British military opens up fire on a group of unarmed colonists. In this engraving, it appears that the colonists are peaceful and that the attack is unprovoked.

However, what the engraving does not show, is the fact that this started due to American colonists protesting and throwing objects at the British military trying to maintain order.

Paul Revere exaggerates what the Boston Massacre looked like in order to persuade colonists that the British military was tyrannical. This would be used as a piece of propaganda to persuade some colonists to join the independence movement that was gaining momentum at this time.

The engraving shows the British soldiers shooting at peaceful unarmed colonists and gives the impression that more than 5 people were killed. This is an example of colonial propaganda.

How would you compare and contrast America's position in WWI and WWII?
denpristay [2]

Answer:

Similarities: World War I and World War II were wars conducted on a massive scale unlike any other wars in history. They were similarly caused by nationalism, imperialism, alliances, and militarism. Both wars saw countries trying to upset the power balance in Europe for their own gain. Difference: While WWI was fought in the trenches and used machine guns and poisonous gas, WWII was fought using modern artillery and machines utilizing more airplanes, ships, tanks, and submarines. Special operations methods were also developed during this war together with atomic missiles and secret communications.

It provided unlimited drawn-out emergency actions of prolonged detention, arrest with no trial or review from the judiciary during World War II.  This was due to activities from nationalist rebels who might engage in alleged conspiracies while the war was being waged.

Many Indians saw it as an abuse of power because they can arrested without a warrant.

Harthal refers to strikes in workplaces where the workplace is closed by striking employees. Satyagraha is non-violent protest which what Gandhi used. I means insistence of the truth.

Although Nehru and Gandhi were always together there were times when they were at odds with each other.  The Salt March was one example because Nehru had doubts but when he saw the potential of it, he changed his mind.  Another was when he demanded a complete separation from the British and this was rejected by Gandhi.

Which tool making technique was once believed to be no older than 20,000 years until recent discoveries at Blombos cave, South A
Fittoniya [83]

Answer: D. Pressure flaking

Explanation: Pressure flaking is the method of applying pressure by means of a pointed wood or bone near the edge of a flake or blade, to detach small flakes from both sides. This provides a greater means of controlling the direction and quantity of the applied force thereby facilitating the early production of sharper and finely detailed tools.

The archaeological discovery in 2010 in Blombos Cave, South Africa, places the use of pressure flaking by early humans to make stone tools back to 73,000 BCE, which is 55,000 years earlier than previously accepted. The previously accepted date of around 20,000 years ago was based upon the evidence previously available which was derived from findings of the Upper Paleolithic Solutrean culture in France and Spain.
