To be organic, a compound has to contain carbon. This is confusing because Na2CO3 contains carbon, so it should be organic, right? but is Not! There are some carbon containing molecules that are considered to be inorganic, like carbonates, carbides, and some oxide forms of carbon (like carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide)
