Answer:

Coastal Armoring

Explanation:

It is a practice of continuously reshaping the shoreline. It can prevent the shoreline from sandy beaches, wetlands and other intertidal area's. From moving in land and the land get eroded the sea level rises. Since its a complex process the coastal armoring has the potential to remove habits pf marine organisms and also checks the beach generation by restricting the natural movements of sediments. They act to stabilize the shoreline. According to me its a good investment as shoreline erosion may greatly impact human lives, like changes in sea level and high tides and waves or any construction of harbors, etc. Alternative channels for coastal armoring may include the building of fences and wall-like structures, raising the bar for the shoreline.

Summary about the pattern of relief in the usa
storchak [24]

The United States is a vast country and it has all sorts of relief forms, but it can generally be divided into few relief regions that have similar characteristics.

Explanation:

The United States is an enormous country, occupying territory in North America that stretches from the Pacific Ocean in the west, to the Atlantic Ocean on the east, and from the Great Lakes in the north, to the Gulf of Mexico in the south, plus having some territories that are not attached. In this vast territory, there are all sorts of minor and major relief forms, which makes this country very interesting for the geographers.

Some areas are very low, some very high, there are numerous mountains ranges, lowlands, and plateaus. There are several orogenic processes that took place and formed big portion of the relief forms. What is interesting for relief in the United States is that it can be divided from east to west, in a meridian manner, as all the major relief patterns tend to have a roughly north to south direction.

The country can be divided though into several areas in accordance to the relief patters:

 • Strip of coastal plains along the Atlantic coast
 • Appalachian Mountain Range
 • Plains
 • Rocky Mountains
 • Plateaus
 • Cascades
 • Strip of coastal plains along the Pacific coast

Using complete sentences, analyze the primary causes of the London Fog in 1952.
algol [13]

Answer:

Alternative Name: The Killer Fog of 1952

Great Smog of London, lethal smog that covered the city of London for five days (December 5–9) in 1952, caused by a combination of industrial pollution and high-pressure weather conditions. This combination of smoke and fog brought the city to a near standstill and resulted in thousands of deaths. Its consequences prompted the passing of the Clean Air Act four years later, which marked a turning point in the history of environmentalism.

The phenomenon of “London fog” long predated the crisis of the early 1950s. Known as “pea-soupers” for their dense, yellow appearance, such all-encompassing fogs had became a hallmark of London by the 19th century. But polluted fog was an issue in London as early as the 13th century, due to the burning of coal, and the situation only worsened as the city continued to expand. Complaints about smoke and pollution increased in the 1600s, when ultimately ineffective legislation was passed under King James I to restrict coal burning. Rapidly increasing industrialization that began in the late 1700s made conditions even worse.

These hazes were not natural formations of the atmosphere: water vapour would stick to particulates released by coal-burning factories, producing dark and heavy clouds that impaired visibility. This variety of fog later came to be known as smog (a merging of the words smoke and fog), a term invented by a Londoner in the early 20th century.
