There are several biogeochemical cycle in the environment which keeps the essential nutrient in rotation within the ecosystem.

Such as carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, phosphorus cycle etc.  

In all these cycles, the nutrient is being continuously cycled between the producer (plants & trees), consumers (animals & human beings) and the decomposers (bacteria’s etc.)  

These nutrients continuously changes their form and place in order to be in a used efficiently.
