I am writing this document today because I feel like I am oppressed and ignored at school. I believe that public schools should have teachers that care for their students. I go to school everyday to learn and i dont learn anything if the teachers don't care to teach, but to ignore.
As a student my rights are to get a good education, learn, and to have the materials in order to succeed in school so i have a good education. I should have the right to take a day out of school for being sick or for a family emergency and not have to worry about getting marked absent and have to worry about coming back to school and having a pile of work to do. I come to school to learn not to have to worry that if I don't get my grade up I'll fail or if i dont turn something in I'll be in trouble. I believe I have the rights and responsibilities as a student to get a good education and not have to worry about missing assignments because all that does is make me father behind in class because when I work on them I start to get behind on what i'm learning now because i can't pay attention to it.
I believe that the school has failed at what they do because they hire people who don't seem to care. I go to school to learn and if i don't have anyone to teach me then how will I be able to learn? A school should be paying attention to students and caring for them instead of not paying attention and letting any and everything happen in them. A school is supposed to be a place where kids should feel safe and not have to worry about getting hurt especially if it happens in their homes.
I declare that I should have the rights to learn and have teachers who care. That i should feel safe in school and be able to get a good meal. That i should be able to learn and not worry about falling behind because of missing assignments. That is, I as a student should be provided with the right materials to work and be able to get my education for a good future and to be able to get a good job.
