“It’s like rain on your wedding day.” Is this ironic, why or why not?
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

This could be taken as irony.

Explanation:

A wedding day is suppose to be happy and filled with joy. A sunny day would represent this, thats why people say "it was like a sunny day". Whereas rain is referred to sadness and depression, like a funeral.  So in this case it would be ironic for a wedding say to be compared to the emotions of sadness and depression.

Hope this helps (:

What type of figurative language is emily of course had changed she met me at the door s she met you she was a shell burned out
Tju [1.3M]
What you described here is a metaphor. She is not really a shell burned out by one fierce moment of fire, she is Emily, a human being, however, a metaphor is used to make emphasize the statement and make it more poetic.
