Y = (x+4)/4 where y represents the amount fifteen years ago and x represents the current price.

y = (50+4)/4
y = 13.5

Let the price of the gum 15 years ago was = x cents

Now it is given that the current price of the gum is = 50 cents

And the question says

That is 4 cents less than four times what the pack cost 15 years ago

So the equations comes out to be ,

4x -4 = 50

Now we have to solve for x

add 4 to both sides

4x = 54

Divide both sides by 4

x=13.5

Hence 15 years ago , the cost of the gum was 13.5 cents

Step-by-step explanation:

From given information

P_{A} = 50 /120 =  0.4166667

P_{B} = 80 /120 =  0.6666667

P_{C} =48/120 = 0.4

How would you do this? I’m lost.

Find the x intercepts by setting each x to equal 0:

(4-x)=0

4 -4 = 0

First x intercept = (4,0)

(x+2) = 0

-2 + 2 = 0

Second x intercept = (-2,0)

Now find the Y intercept by setting the x's to 0 and solve for y:

y = (4-0)(0+2)

y = 4*2

y = 8

The Y intercept is (0,8)

Now find the graph the the parabola crosses the x axis at -2 and 4 and also crosses the Y axis at 8.

Graph A is the correct one.

1. The graph of y=x is shown below.
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y=x-3 is basically the graph with the points (0,-3) (3,0) and a straight line between them continuing on in both directions.  Jut figure out the x and y intercept, or you could find any two points by setting x equal to any number.
