The correct answer is C) became victims of the Bataan Death March.

Cannon Air Force Base is the home of the 27th Special Operations Group. During WWII, many of the men from the forerunner to this group, the 27th Bombardment Group, became victims of the Bataan Death March.

After the Bataan Peninsula Battle on April 9, 1942, US Army troops and Filipino troops survivors were forced to march 65 miles to prison camps. After the victory of the Japanese Army, prisoners had to endure the long road to prisons, suffering the extreme heat conditions. Many died during the march. That is why the incident is known as the Bataan Death March.

Lincoln Steffens and Claude west more were muckrakers that wrote about st Louis what did they say
IRISSAK [1]

The term muckrakers was used to refer to reformist American journalists who attacked political leaders and instutions for their corrupt practices during the Progressive Era. Most of these journalists were popular due to their publications in popular magazines.

Lincoln Steffens and Claude Wetmore wrote an article about St Louis in 1902 in McClure's Magazine.

They wrote about how paradoxical was that people constinously showed pride in St Louis, and how this contrasted with the awful image of the city. They pointed out how people in St. Louis claimed to have very wealthy inhabitants, together with the best banks, industries, etc., but how at first sight it was possible to observe uncared-for streets, dirty alleys, a filthy hospital, the unfinished construction repairs in the town hall, etc.
