Answer:

b. World War II had made the countries of Europe too weak and tired to resist the independence movement.

Explanation:

World War II destroyed or seriouly weakened the economies of Europe. Countries were ravaged by the war and had to rebuild them. The old colonial powers tried to retain control of their empires, reoccupying the colonies they were forced to leave by the Japanese in Asia, or reasserting themselves in Africa. However, national consciousness and identities gained strength in the colonies, and the aspirations of independence of many African and Asian peoples rose.

For example, national liberation wars were fought in Vietnam and Algeria; the Vietnamese soundly defeated the French in 1954 , forcing a peace conference that put and end to French colonialism in Indochina; and France had to leave Algeria and grant its independence after a bloody and brutal war. Britain granted independence to its colonial possessions in Africa and Asia in the 1950s and 1960s. The societies of Europe were tired of war and their economic might was severely diminished by WWII, so they could not afford colonial empires anymore.

How does the lyrics of Red Star Falling by Saxon relate to the cold war?
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

See below

Explanation:

The cold war was the period following World War II when the two superpowers of the day, the Soviet Union and the United States, were economic, political, and military adversaries.

The red star was a symbol of communism, the Soviet Union, and the Red Army.

The Red Army controlled the republics of the Soviet Union, brutally suppressing any dissent.

"A million people in the streets" refers to protest marches against communism around the world. It reminds me of the gathering of a million protesters in New York City in 1982

"The tanks have left, the walls torn down" refers to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989-1990. The hated wall prevented Soviet citizens from escaping to the American side.

"Live no more in fear and shame" and "Hear no more the screams of pain" refer to the Communist Party losing its monopoly on state power in 1990. Relaxed controls on the press and on dissent led the republics of the Soviet Union to declare their autonomy from Moscow, with some withdrawing from the Union entirely.

Wat does it mean if the numbers 789 r glowing on a ouija board
Anestetic [448]
According to the rules of the Ouija board, this means that there is an angel trapped in the board, and that you should say goodbye immediately. In this case, force the planchette (the triangular thing you have your hands on during the game) to glide over the word "goodbye." This way, you can be sure to close the portal of communication to the other realm, and ensure your safety.
