What is the origin of the term blue laws?
Tamiku [17]
So this term is usually known as laws so absurd that it shouldn't even be a law. Examples are like "One may not eat oatmeal on their porch on Saturdays in ______". The term came from the idea that they shouldn't need to be stated and that they are just morally wrong. Or that one MUST do something because it is morally right to do that.

How did the Romans influence the creation of the United States government?
GenaCL600 [577]
The romans had a government that included both a body of senators and an emperor, much like today’s president and legislative branch. However they also allowed the people to have a say in government, which reflects the U.S. principle of “We the people.”
