Answer:

Jacques Cartier was a french explorer who is considered to be the discoverer of Canada. He was born in village of Saint-Malo in duchy of Brittney. He came from a family of Mariners. He went on three voyages, First Voyage (1534), Second Voyage (1535-1536), Third voyage(1541-1542). He set sail to discover Asia in 1534 but instead of Asia he reached Newfoundland, there he received furs from the Micmac Indians. He also got to know about a river(St. Lawrence river) which was in the east, he thought the river to be a passage to Asia. Instead of sailing the Saint Lawrence river, he entered in the Bay of Gaspe and landed in Quebec. There he planted 30-foot cross to mark and claim the territory for France.

What was the Engel v Vitale prayer?.
andrey2020 [161]

"Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country. Amen."

What was the Engel v Vitale case?

The United States Supreme Court declared in the historic Engel v. Vitale case, 370 U.S. 421 (1962), that it is against the First Amendment for state officials to create an official school prayer and promote its recitation in public schools. The decision has been the focus of heated discussion. However, the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment was deemed to be violated by the Supreme Court in the 1962 case of Engel v. Vitale, which involved official prayer recitation in public schools. The decision is denounced by some for being a blow to the country's religious traditions while being lauded by others as a success for religious freedom.

Why do you think that states dropped voting requirements for white men in the Early Republic? Why did those same states add new
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The rise of political parties as the fundamental organizing unit of the Second (Two) Party System represented a sharp break from the values that had shaped Republican and Federalist political competition. Leaders in the earlier system remained deeply suspicious that parties could corrupt and destroy the young republic. At the heart of the new legitimacy of parties, and their forthright celebration of democracy, was the dramatic expansion of VOTING RIGHTS for white men.

Hope this helps
