A school orders t-shirts from terrific Ts. The total cost is made up of a set-up fee of $115 and a cost of $3 per t-shirt. Terri

fic Ts requires a minimum order of 25 T-shirts. The school can spend a maximum of $800. How do I Determine all the possible values of the total cost and the number of T-shirts, for this situation?

First let establish the eqautionlet y be the total costx is the number of orders
y = 3x + 115
since the minimum order is 25x >= 25
then The school can spend a maximum of $800
800 <= 3x + 115
800 - 115 <= 3x685 <= 3x685/3 <= x228.33 <= x

Use the properties of limits to find the limit.<br> Picture provided below
zhannawk [14.2K]

\dfrac{4x}{x-5}=\dfrac4{1-\frac5x}, and as x\to\infty, the \dfrac5x term vanishes.

\dfrac{4x}{x^2+5}=\dfrac{\frac4x}{1+\frac5{x^2}}, and as x\to\infty, both \dfrac4x and \dfrac5{x^2} vanish.

So

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to\infty}\left(\frac{4x}{x-5}+\frac{4x}{x^2+5}\right)=\lim_{x\to\infty}(4+0)=4

and the answer is C.

Given the line of the best fit for a set of data points with equation y=-2.5+5x, what is the residual for the point (3,6)
Dennis_Churaev [7]
The residual is the difference between the predicted value and the real value. Using the equation, we find for the value of y using the given value of x.

                                y = -2.5 + 5x
                                y = -2.5 + 5(3)
                                  y = 12.5
The difference between this value and the given value of y is 12.5 - 6 = 6.5
Thus, the residual is equal to 6.5.
