Answer:

Each boy receive $3.75 and Each girl receive  $7.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Thirty dollars is to be divided among three girls and two boys so that each of the girls receives twice as much as each of the boys.

To Find:  How much does each receive?

Solution :

Let each boy gets $x

Since we are given that each of the girls receives twice as much as each of the boys

So, each girl receive amount = 2x

Since there are 3 girls .

So, 3 girls received the amount = 3*(2x)=6x

Now each boy gets x amount

So, 2 boys get amount = 2*x =2x

Since thirty dollars are divided among them .

So, 6x+2x=30

8x=30

x=\frac{30}{8}

x=3.75

Thus each boy gets $3.75

Each girl receive amount = 2x = 2*3.75= $7.5

Hence Each boy receive $3.75 and Each girl receive  $7.5

Molly owes her brother $300.She works for $10 per hour as a checker at the local grocery store.Molly plans to repay her brother
gavmur [86]

Answer: The expression which represents the condition described is given as  4x=300

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Amount that Molly owes her brother = $300

Let the number of hours she worked as a checker be x

Cost of per hour = $10

Amount she get after doing work for x hours is given by

10x

Rate of tax are taken out = 80%

So, amount she left with is given by

\frac{100-20}{100}\times 10x\\\\=\frac{80}{100}\times 10x\\\\=8x

So, Molly plans to repay her brother half of what she earns is given by

\frac{8x}{2}=4x

According to question,

4x=300\\\\x=\frac{300}{4}\\\\x=75\ hours

So, the expression which represents the condition described is given as

4x=300

Lamont retired at age 55 and rolls over $300500
Arlecino [84]

If Lamont withdraws $2,750 monthly, he will be <u>66 years old</u> (after 134.326 months) when the money runs out.

<h3>How is the number of monthly withdrawals calculated?</h3>

We can calculate the number of monthly withdrawals using an online finance calculator.

It determines the number of periods it will take for the investment to be exhausted, given an interest rate of 3.8%.

I/Y (Interest per year) = 3.8%

PV (Present Value) = $300,500

PMT (Periodic Payment) = $-2750

FV (Future Value) = $0

<u>Results</u>:

N = 134.326 months

Years = 11 years (134.326/12)

Age at FV = $0 is 66 years (55 + 11)

Sum of all periodic payments = $-369,397.09 (134.326 x $-2,750)

Total Interest = $68,897.09

Thus, making a monthly withdrawal of $2,750 will exhaust the investment when Lamont turns <u>66</u>.
