Fortunate is an adjective, but its use in this sentence is not correct. It has the same effect as other adjectives, for example, happy. If we used happy in the same way, the sentence would become: "It is happy that you..." So, to fix the sentence, it's possible to write it: Fortunately you are able to fix the faucet..." or We are fortunate that you are able to fix the faucet..."

Identify the sentence that correctly distinguishes between plural nouns and possessive nouns. A. All of our school's cafeteria
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

C. All of our school's cafeterias were closed during spring break.

Explanation:

Plural nouns are those nouns that are more than one. They are either identified by the addition of (s) in the noun or in some cases (ives).

Possessive nouns are those nouns which show the possessive nature of the noun. It is an indication of the possession of the thing by the noun. It is indicated by the addition of ('s) in the noun.

So, from the sentence given in the options, the cafeteria is the property of the school so it will be indicated as "the school's cafeteria". Also, the cafeterias talked about is more than one so it will be indicated in the plural sense, thus adding (s) in the noun.

Thus, the final sentence will be

All of our school's cafeterias were closed during the spring break.

* School's is the possessive noun while cafeterias is the plural noun.
