Italian unification refers to the political consolidation of all the different states in the Italy peninsula into one kingdom.This occurred in the 19th century. The unification was successful but it brought about a lot of problems. The problems include: regional divisions, lack of voting rights, social unrest, rapid population growth, etc. After the unification, population explosion made it difficult for people to find work and because of this many move away from Italy into other countries in order to look for greener pastures.
