When it's a named street. For example, if you were wrtiting down or texting someone directions without a specific street name, you'd write "Turn left on that street." But if you were giving a SPECIFIC street name, you'd say, "Turn left on Oakwood Street."

Another example, The word ‘hill’ is not a proper noun, but Gellert Hill is because it’s the name of one specific hill.

In case you haven't got it by now, only capitalize if you're being specific about the name.

5. Which sentence uses an informal tone to appeal to an audience of high school students?
Anna [14]

Answer:

4. Being a friend means being respectful, fair, interested, trustworthy, honest, caring, and kind.

Explanation:

When someone is holding a speech, they need to pay attention to what their audience is like. The tone a speaker will use will not be the same when they're speaking to an audience that consists of scientists and one that consists of high school students.

Students mostly use informal language. Informal language is more casual, spontaneous, and personal than formal language, which is always carefully thought out and mostly used in a professional or academic setting.

The sentence that uses informal language is the fourth one. The vocabulary and sentence structure are simple and similar to what we would hear in everyday situations, which is typical for informal language.

Read paragraph 8 of "American History," and identify what type of
Deffense [45]

After reading American history, it is recognized as has external conflict in the story.

What is conflict?

Conflicts refer to situations when people have disagreements over a certain topic due to differences of opinion. This disagreement leads to clashes and results in conflicts.

The conflict in the story is between Elena's desire to fit in and her inability to do so. Due to her parents' inconsistent presence at home, she is unable to feel accepted even there. This conflict is external because everything around her is in conflict.

The conflict can be resolved by establishing effective communication between the girl and her parents. She should also try to communicate and share feelings with her friends in school.

Communication helps to eliminate loopholes in any conversation and make better understanding with each other.
