Dumbarton Oaks was a meeting to formulate the United Nations. Yalta was aconference on the occupation of Germany and how it would be split among Britain,<span>Russia, France. and the U.S.</span>

Dumbarton Oaks and Yalta both were the important conferences of the post war world. Dumbarton Oaks was held in 1944 in Washington. In this conference, the delegates from 39 countries met to discuss the United Nations. Out of all these countries five would be selected as permanent members and 11 would be selected as the member of security council. Yalta conference was held in February 1945. Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin met at a Soviet resort on the Black Sea called Yalta and the outcome of conference was that Poland was liberated, Europe was declared Liberated and Germany was divided in to Four zones.

The UN is the institution  which is committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relation among nations and promoting social progress and better living standards with human rights. This institution was the outcome of Dumbarton Oaks
