Oncogenes; transformation

Oncogenes is a gene that has the potential to cause cancer. They are usually caused by mutation resulting into high expression. Normally cells will have programmed cell death when functions of the cells are altered from the normal. Activated oncogenes can make the cell survive and proliferate by preventing programmed cell death. Commonly,  multiple oncogenes with mutated tumor suppresor genes will act in complimentary to cause cancer.
