explain and argument: why does madison say a republican form of government best suits the united states as it forms a new consti
SashulF [63]
James Madison played a great role in establishment of the US as a republic. During the writing of the constitution, the founding fathers were adamant that they wanted democratic system of governance. However, they were torn between a direct democracy and a republican democracy. James Madison dismissed a direct democracy since the US is a large country and thus impossible to be governed through direct pure democracy. Instead, the father of the constitution argued for a scheme of representation in a republican setting. He especially lauded such a government since it even catered for the rights of the minority than in direct democracies.

How many countries have signed the Kyoto protocol?
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an additional protocol adopted on 11 December 1997 to form the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) of climate protection. The agreement, which entered into force on 16 February 2005, establishes for the first time legally binding targets for the emission of greenhouse gases in industrialized countries, which are the main cause of global warming. By early December 2011, 191 states and the European Union  had signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol. The US rejected the ratification of the protocol in 2001, and Canada announced its withdrawal from the agreement on December 13.

Explain the role of the Roman Catholic church in the middle ages
zimovet [89]

Answer

Church leaders, such as bishops and archbishops, had influential roles in medieval European monarchies and often served as advisers to a country’s king. The church also acted as a counter against monarchs who wanted absolute power, since there was one power the church had over them -- excommunication. An excommunicated king could face leadership challenges from both inside and outside his kingdom, without the condemnation of church leaders. A clear example of this is King John of England, who was excommunicated from the Catholic Church in the 13th century after a dispute with Pope Innocent III. After encountering numerous difficulties, including the threat of a papal-backed French invasion, John agreed to once again swear fealty to the pope.

I never understand these things no matter how many different ways they are explained to meplz help.
Talja [164]
Hello there!

Here is my OPINION/ interpretation. I may or may not be incorrect.

1). The US shouldn't sell arms (weapons) overseas because it would cause a war, and the US's goal was to stay isolated, hence the term isolationism.

Arms = weapons
Arms = body part

Selling weapons across the to Britain could cause conflicts, which could lead to war.

However, (in the first image), of they didn't sell weapons, they'd remain neutral, therefore avoiding war and its costs.

2). This cartoon MAY be trying to persuade the reader that war isn't always the solution to resolving a conflict, and that isolationism can lead to peace and unity.

Again, this is MY OPINION.

Hope this helped! :)
